BENTONVILLE — A Rogers man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of raping an 11-yearold girl.
Jose Jesus Duran-Silva, 20, was arrested on four counts of rape, a class Y felony punishable with a sentence ranging from 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
On Aug. 15, Rogers police began investigating the sexualabuse complaint after receiving information concerning the 11-year-old and another 15-year-old girl spending the night with men at a motel, according to court documents.
The younger girl at first denied any sexual contact with Duran-Silva, but later admitted to being in a sexual relationship with him, court documents state. During an interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County, the 11-yearold said she did not tell Duran-Silva her age.
When questioned by police, Duran-Silva said the pair had sex on more than one occasion. Duran-Silva also claimed the girl told him she was 14. The probable-cause affidavit states Duran-Silva said “ he saw on MySpace that 14 years old was OK. ”
Duran-Silva is being held in the Benton County Jail in lieu of $ 35, 000 bond.
