ROGERS — Friday and Saturday’s Frisco Festival will be a last hurrah of sorts for Main Street Rogers President Marge Wolf.
On Sept. 7, Wolf will leave the downtown support organization to take the head job at Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.
Although the festival will be her final major event with Main Street Rogers, Wolf said she will treat the event the way she always has.
“ I’m just going to work it like I’ve worked it every year for seven years, ” she said.
Mayor Steve Womack said Wolf’s eight years at Main Street Rogers have been an incredible boon to the city.
“ She made the Main Street Rogers program, which was already pretty good, that much better, ” Womack said.
Wolf, a former CEO of the United Way of Rogers-Lowell, is leaving not for greener pastures but for the new challenges the food bank offers.
“ I think I’ve done what I can here at Main Street, ” she said.
Womack said he didn’t begrudge her desire for new experiences.
“ Marge, she’s going to be missed, but we understand that, in those kinds of jobs, you’ve accomplished everything you can accomplish, and you need to be challenged, ” Womack said. “ And I respect that. ”
Main Street Rogers Board Chairman Nathan Gairhan announced that a search committee has been formed to pick a new president. Resumes may be sent to resume @ mainstreetrogers. com or to MSR Search Committee, 119 S. Second St., Rogers AR 72756.
