James and Laura Porch

Laura Joy Shepherd and James Clayton Porch, both of Bentonville, were married at 6 p. m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Bentonville by the Rev. Rex. A. Dickey.

The bride is the daughter of Sheila and Nick Shepherd of Bentonville.

The groom is the son of Karen Porch and Billy Porch, both of Bentonville.

The bride was escorted by her parents, Sheila and Nick Shepherd. She wore an ivory slim, A-line gown, featuring lace decorated with beading and crystals. She wore an ivory elbow-length veil.

Dr. Jill Kimmer of Oklahoma City, Okla., served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Porch of Santa Monica, Calif., Erin Travis of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Kristin Frase of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christi Miller of Stockton, Kan.

The attendants wore black tea-length, A-line, strapless dresses with champagne sashes.

Kenny Mushett of Bentonville served as best man.

Groomsmen were Travis Lee and Gabe Hollingsworth, both of Fayetteville, Rodney Redman of Bella Vista and John Vorisek of Bentonville.

Ushers were Jeremy Shepherd of Gentry and Tyler Steele of Centerton.

Kaycee Shepherd and Jasara Shepherd served as flower girls.

Music was provided by Vicki Redman.

Kate Baker and Rori Frank attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Bella Vista Country Club.

The bride holds a bachelor’s degree in health and applied sciences and a doctorate in physical therapy. She is employed as a physical therapist.

The groom holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is employed in sales.

Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will live in Bentonville.
