Justice, who lives on the golf course at Metfield, collects errant golf balls and then sells them. All of that money is then donated to Habitat for Humanity. This year he already has given $ 1, 540 to the organization. Anyone wanting to buy golf balls from Justice can ball 855-0570.
Dakota Club of Northwest Arkansas
The club will meet at 6 p. m. Dec. 9 at Papa Mike’s Restaurant at the Kingsdale Grill in Bella Vista.
Joe Tropansky will present an e program centered around his toy train and automobile collection and will interject Christmas Carols into the presentation.
Members are to bring a canned or bottled juice gift (no tomato or grapefruit ) for the Benton County Sunshine School.
Anyone having lived in either North Dakota or South Dakota is welcome to attend. A social hour will begin at 5: 30 p. m. followed by a dinner featuring smoked ham at 6 p. m. Current members of the Dakota club will be called for reservations. Others who wish to attend may call 876-2621 by Dec. 5.

This chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution met Nov. 3, at the Old Bentonville Train Station. The speakers were Paige and Mary Bess Mulhollan, who gave a virtual tour of the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville.
New member Naydean Towner was presented by Registrar Kathleen Haase and installed by Chaplain Frances Scott.
The Daughters were encouraged to take part in the General Mills Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Labels for Education. Box tops and labels will be contributed to DAR schools — Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla., and Chemawa in Salem, Ore.
Cash contributions were received for the Veterans Canteen Books, an annual November project of the chapter. The Daughters also are sending $ 100 to veterans oversees for phone cards.
The December luncheon will be at 11: 30 a. m. Dec. 1 at Fred’s Hickory House, 1502 N. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville. Reservations can be made by sending a check to Charlene Chamberlin before Tuesday.

Anita Burney recently encouraged in the group write a successful play to be performed locally. She gave scenes and tidbits from the plays she wrote for Heaven Sent Drama Club as well as many plays that were performed locally.
Award-winning news from members included -resident Margaret Weathers’ poem “ Death’s Golden Door” which was featured in Kaleidoscope in the Sentinel Record Newspaper. Vice president Louis Houston won first, second and third place and honorable mentions in the annual Arkansas Poets’ Roundtable contest. He read his winning poem “ Where Home Was, ” to the Writers.
Awards were given for prose and poetry. September Poetry, a limerick: Rachel Kulp, “ A Thrifty Young Lady, ” first; Margaret Weathers, “ Oops, ” second; and Shane Qualls, “ A Guy Named Shane, ” third. October Poetry Awards were: Tom Palmer, “ Autumn Changes, ” first; and Rachel Kulp, “ The Fall of Autumn, ” second.
Officers for 2009 are Margaret Weathers, president; Louis Houston, vicepresident; Maxine MacKenzie, treasurer; and Rachel Kulp, secretary.
The Dec. 4 meeting will be at 7 p. m. at the Senior Center, 750 Heritage Court in Siloam Springs. The program will consist of a musical presentation by “ New Harvest. ”
Writers are to bring unwrapped child’s clothing gift with a tag poem attached. The prose assignment is to write a Biblebased Christmas story in today’s setting. Tag poems will not be judged.

The chapter will meet Dec. 1, at St. Theodore’s Episcopal Church, 1001 Kingsland Road.
Entertainment will begin at 11: 30 a. m., and will be followed by a salad luncheon. The salads will be furnished by members whose last names begin with the letters M through Z.
All unaffiliates are welcome to attend.
Dec. 6 is the deadline for checks to be received for the BIL dinner at Duffer’s Cafe on Dec. 13. Bella Vista Welcome Club
The club is accepting renewal dues of $ 8 per person and $ 15 per couple for the 2009 calendar year. New members joining will have membership eligibility for the remainder of 2008 and the 2009 calendar year. The 2009 membership directory will be published in April.

The club will hold a Christmas dance Dec. 3 at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. The dance is open to the pubic. The cost is $ 15 per couple or $ 7. 50 per person.
