Anderson, Mo.

Jackie Ray Ware, 63, of Anderson, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., following an illness. He was born Sept. 17, 1945, in Douthaut, Okla., to Clayton Ware and Mittie Stewart Ware. A longtime resident of Oklahoma, he moved to Goodman, Mo., in 1984 from Miami, Okla. Just recently, he moved to the Anderson area. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Frontier Leasing in Joplin, Mo., for several years. He served in the U. S. Army for four years, serving in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed deer hunting. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly Wallain and Jon Wallain of Anderson; four brothers, Bud Ware of Columbus, Kan., Clell Ware of Cardin, Okla., Charlie Ware of Nixa, Mo., and Jon Ware of Brownsville, Calif.; two sisters, Delores Woods of Taneyville, Mo., and Roberta Myers of Nixa; and a granddaughter, Isabella Wallain of Anderson. A memorial visitation service will be held from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson. Bentonville

Guy “Red” Blood, 76, of Bentonville, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. He was born April 25, 1932, in Rogers to Guy David Blood and Lutie Blackburn Blood. He retired from the city of Rogers Street Department. He served in the National Guard, 142 nd Battalion, Battery C. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to pawn shops. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lea; a sister, Wanda Lea; and a son-in-law, Jimmy Klutts. Survivors include his wife, Opal Blood; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Debbie Kay Klutts of Centerton, Ark., Teresa Guyll and Frankie Guyll of Rogers, Ark., Cindy Doeppke and Tim Doeppke of Bentonville and Donna Holloway and Bobby Holloway of Springdale, Ark.; a sister, Betty Ozbun of Rogers; eight grandchildren, Angela Davis, Kimberly Lewis, Brandon Guyll, Justin Guyll, Stephanie Winston, Johnathan Simpson, Jessica Holloway and Charles Holloway; 11 great-grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark. Graveside services will be at 2 p. m. Fayetteville

Wilma Ann Browers, 55, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark. She was born Dec. 28, 1952, in Decatur, Ark., to Emery Browers and Mildred Moots Browers. She had lived in northwest Arkansas all her life and was self-employed. She was preceded in death by her father, Emery Browers. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Browers of Seattle, Wash.; her mother, Mildred Browers of Siloam Springs, Ark.; three sisters and two brothersin-law, Cheryl Cavness of Rogers, Ark., Lorraine Turner and Bill Turner of Siloam Springs and Joyce Thompson and Loy Wayne Thompson of Decatur, Ark.; two brothers, Frank Browers of Tahlequah, Okla., and Wayne Browers of Springdale, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. Private family services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark. Garfield

K. V. Turney, 89, of Garfield, Ark., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at his home. He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Garfield to William Turney and Agnus Turney.

He was a pilot and an aircraft mechanic (A / P ) and inspector (I / A ). He began his career at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Okla., during World War II. He later moved to Florida and was in charge of the maintenance crew for an overseas cargo airline and flew to nine Caribbean Islands to repair the company’s airplanes. He also started repairing wrecked airplanes while in Florida. His specialty became sheet-metal work on wrecked airplanes, and he continued that work during his career. He was later the fixedbase operator at the Rogers, Ark., and Bentonville, Ark., municipal airports. He owned and operated Weddington Woods Airport in Fayetteville, Ark., until 1995, when he semi-retired and moved to Garfield and continued to do aircraft inspections. He enjoyed fixing things, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Turney; and a brother, Wesley Turney.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Turney; a stepdaughter, Patty Knaust and her husband Don Knaust of Bentonville, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Turney of Rogers, Ark.; a brother and sister-in-law, William Turney and Melvina Turney of Garfield; a sister, Mabel White of Tulsa, Okla.; a granddaughter, Alicia Floyd of Rogers; a great-grandson, Brandon Floyd of Rogers; four nieces; and two nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark. Graveside services will be at 1 p. m. Tahlequah, Okla.

Lana Belle Miller Tabler, 86, of Tahlequah, Okla., formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008. She was born June 7, 1922, in Hillview, Ill., to Elmer Miller and Ethel Carter Miller.

She and her husband, Edward V. Tabler, owned and operated Tabler Jewelry in Morris, Ill., for many years. In 1974, the couple retired to Bella Vista, Ark., where she was active in tennis and golf. In 1999, they moved to Go YeVillage in Tahlequah. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Morris, the Bella Vista Baptist Church, and Northside Baptist Church in Tahlequah. Her priority was missions, and she was a leader in the Women’s Missionary Union for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward V. Tabler; two brothers, John Miller and Norbert Miller; and two sisters, Margaret Nuss and Joanna Olson.

Survivors include three children, Edward J. Tabler and Terry Zelinski, both of Fayetteville, Ark., and Frank Tabler of Bentonville, Ark.; a brother, Lynn Miller of Morris, Ill.; a sister, Gracie Reynolds of Ottowa, Ill.; four grandchildren, Brent Zelinski, Martin Tabler, Matt Tabler and Mallory Tabler; and two greatgrandchildren, Mason Zelinski and Harper Zelinski.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a. m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Northside Baptist Church in Tahlequah.

Interment of cremains will be at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.

Arrangements are by Green Country Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moom Christmas offering at Northside Baptist Church in Tahlequah.

Bentonville

John Berry “ J. B. ” Sooter, 85, of Bentonville, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

He was born August 20, 1923, in Troy, Kansas, to Ova Sooter and Robbie Allsbury Sooter.

J. B. graduated from Bentonville High School, Class of 1943. He retired from Kraft Foods after 34 years of service. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and served with Battery A of the 936 th Field Artillery of the Arkansas Army National Guard during the Korean conflict. J. B. retired in 1986 from the Guard. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, as well as a Bentonville Tiger fan. He enjoyed camping in their travel-trailer, working on his lawn, and was a charter member of the Bentonville Lions Club and a member of the American Legion. J. B. was a longtime and active member of the Bentonville Church of the Nazarene, where he was affectionately referred to by the children as the “ Funny Man. ”

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ozell Cash Sooter of the home; a son, John W. Sooter of Bentonville; 3 sisters, Ellen Jefferson of Bentonville, Beulah Brown and her husband Lynn of Bella Vista, Helen Miller of Bentonville; two grandchildren, Chris W. Sooter and his wife Wendy of Bentonville, Jordan A. Sooter of Bentonville; two great-grandsons, John Blake Sooter and John Samuel Sooter, both of Bentonville; numerous nieces and nephews, to whom he was referred to as Uncle BB. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be 6-8 p. m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the Bentonville Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services will be 1 p. m. Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Bentonville Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dr. Mark Lindstrom and Lynn Brown officiating. Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park with Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Jim Jefferson, Jerry Brown, David Brown, Marion Harris, Lyndon Miller and Jamie Jameson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Guy J. Wilkerson, Cecil Jordan, Joe Duncan, Worth Clayton, George Porter, Junior Hill, Ed Austin and Gene Phillips, as well as all of those who served with J. B. in Battery A, 1 st Battalion of the 142 nd Field Artillery of the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Memorials may be made in honor of J. B. to the Bentonville Church of the Nazarene, 220 N. W. A Street, Bentonville, AR 72712; or to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
