Holiday concert supports scholarships

BENTONVILLE — Starring Daniel Narducci and the Barbara Mashburn Scholarship Singers, Live on Stage in NWA is producing the holiday program “ Christmas Once More. ” Presented at 2 p. m. Dec. 7 at Arend Arts Center at Bentonville High School, the original production is a benefit for music scholarships.

Narducci, a classic American baritone, has toured North America, Europe and China. Narducci has performed with a multitude of opera companies since his debut with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. He had his New York City debut at Alice Tully Hall and has been featured in several documentaries and programs on PBS and the BBC.

As a recording artist, Narducci created the role of “ Captain Hook ” in the world premiere recording of Leonard Bernstein’s “ Peter Pan, ” and has also been performing many concerts featuring the music of Bernstein. Narducci will introduce his new CD, “ Christmas Once More, ” at the concert.

The Barbara Mashburn Scholarship Singers of Fayetteville are former Arkansas high-school seniors who are now enrolled at the University of Arkansas. The group, which performs at annual fundraisers and other local functions, presented a Christmas concert at the White House in 2000 for President and Mrs. Clinton.
