Verizon Wireless opens ‘evolution’ store

Verizon Wireless will hold the grand opening of its newest communications store in Fayetteville on Saturday. The new store, located in the Nelson Crossing Shopping Center at the corner of Joyce Boulevard and College Avenue in Fayetteville, is the first in Arkansas to feature the new "evolution"design concept, which offers consumers hands-on interaction with wireless voice, data, music and video products and services in a sleek store front.

The new evolution store is designed to streamline the sales process and increase customer satisfaction through a number of innovative systems and operational enhancements, such as a check-in kiosk and interactive demo zone.

Grand opening festivities started Thursday. Verizon Wireless employees and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce kicked off the grand opening festivities at the new communications store, located at 3931 N. Shiloh Drive, with a "wire-cutting"ceremony. During the ceremony, Verizon Wireless presented a $ 3, 500 donation to Peace at Home Family Shelter of Fayetteville in support of their ongoing commitment to preventing domestic violence in the Fayetteville community.

The grand opening celebration will continue with special offers and activities on Saturday, including NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Chase Miller on site from 3-5 p.m.

The store hours for the new Fayetteville location are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
