Although he risked his own life to save his little brother Monday morning, 12-year-old Bradley Wilson doesn't consider himself a hero.

"I was just looking out for him," Wilson said of saving the 6-year-old's life. "I didn't want him to get hurt."

Authorities say Wilson and his brother were walking down Mason Road in rural Washington County, toward a family member's home, at about 10: 20 a.m. Monday when a green car came barreling toward them at a high rate of speed. Without hesitation, Wilson reportedly pushed his little brother out of harm's way, putting his own life on the line.

"I just blinked and everything was over," he said. "I remember hitting my face on the windshield and being air-lifted to the hospital."

The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene southbound on Mason, toward County Road 303. Wilson was transported to the Washington Regional Medical Center by Air-Evac. He was treated for minor injuries and later released.

"He's doing OK," Wilson's mom, Kristie Moseley, said of her son's condition. "He's getting along slow. His nose is bruised, and he has a knot on his head.

Wilson's kid brother reportedly walked away from the scene uninjured. Investigators are relying on the 6-year-old's statement to help catch the suspect, descr ibed as a male with a dark complexion who was driving a green, four-door passenger car with a large fin or spoiler on the back.

"It just makes me angry," Moseley said of the hitand-run accident. "I can't see how people could be so cold-hearted. I mean, it's a kid. Could you not stop to see if he's all right ?"
