AAU BASKETBALL A local AAU basketball squad is holding a tryout on Aug. 23 for boys that will be in grades 9-10 for the 2008-09 school year. FAC SWIM CLASS A new adult swim class will be held at Fayetteville Athletic Club. Fee is $ 25 per 30-minute lesson for FAC Members and $ 35 for non-FAC members. For more information, contact Kary Todd at 587-0500 ext 253 or e-mail ktodd @ fayac. com.

FHS DANCE CLINIC The Fayetteville High School Dance Team will be hosting a Lil' Dawg Dance Clinic on Saturday, Aug. 30, for girls in grades K-5 in the FHS Bulldog Gym from 9-11: 30 a.m. Participants will perform prior to the first home FHS football game on Sept. 5. The cost is $ 35 and participants will receive a t-shirt, ribbon, and poms. PAGNOZZI CHARITIES The 17 th Annual Tom Pagnozzi Charity Golf Tournament, Banquet and Sports Memorabilia Auction will be held Oct. 16-18. The event will kick off Oct. 16 with a four-person scramble golf tournament at Fayetteville Country Club. Morning and afternoon flights will take place on Oct. 17. Golf teams are available and are $ 800 per team, or $ 200 for an individual. On Oct. 18, the banquet and sports memorabilia auction will be held at the Fayetteville Town Center at 6 p.m. Former Arkansas track and field athlete Mike Conley Sr. will be the guest speaker. Tickets are $ 35 and tables are $ 500 and $ 1, 000. All proceeds raised will benefit the Pagnozzi Youth Sports Scholarship Fund. NWA 11 U BASEBALL An 11-and-under Northwest Arkansas USSSA Competitive Baseball Team is seeking baseball players for the 2009 season. The focus of this team is to teach the fundamentals of the game, which will include an emphasis on team concept, attitude, discipline and competition. QUICKSTART TENNIS Fall signups are starting now at Fayetteville Athletic Club for a tennis class for kids ages 5-8. Quickstart is a new way for kids to learn tennis using foam balls and courts designed for their size and abilities. FHS FAST-PITCH LEAGUE The FHS Lady Dawg Fastpitch Booster Club will hold a fall fast-pitch softball league from Sept. 15 to Oct. 23. Individual sign-ups will be accepted through Aug. 15. Players can sign up in person at Lady Dawg Yard on Aug. 7 or Aug. 14 from 6: 30-8 p. m., or sign up online at ladydawgs. org, or pick up / drop off applications at Best Sports in Fayetteville Teams will play at least 14 games and be put together in a manner as to promote the best level of competition yet maintain a degree of randomness.
