Food drive results announced

A canned food drive at the University of Arkansas collected 600 pounds of food for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. Teenager founds local SADD chapter

Kayla Spencer, 14, of Farmington, wanted to make a difference, so with the help of her mother, she got approval and founded a chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions at Haas Hall Academy, a public charter school in Farmington. Recognized by the national association of the same name, the group focuses on raising awareness and prevention of issues that plague today’s youth, such as drunk driving and underage drinking, illegal drug use, suicide, pre-marital sex and tobacco use, to name a few. - Sunday, November 16, 2008

What I know now that I didn’t know then is that choosing a person to spend your life with is perhaps the biggest factor in how the rest of your life will go. Education is important.
