Elkins
Prentice Myers, 93, of Elkins, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice Home.
He was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Winnsboro, La., to Louis and Lilly Maude Crider Myers. He was a selfemployed painter and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Myers; two sons, Jerry and Kent Myers, both of Fayetteville; four daughters: Cherlyn Jordan of We s t Fo r k, Beverly Vargo of Farmington; and Mary Parks and Nila Shackelford, both of Elkins; nine grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Arrangements were by Moore’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Ray Shackelford officiating.

Lexie Lee Warford, 59, of Elkins died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.
She was born Jan. 8, 1949, in Delaney to Ervin and Agnes Hill Hollingsworth. She was a homemaker and a member of the Covenant Word Ministries in Elkins.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Lee Warford; a son, Kenneth Keith of Elkins; a daughter, Karen Shumate of Elkins; two sisters, Maggie Hattabaugh and Betty Stowers, both of Elkins; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.
A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Brannon Mountain Church with the Rev. Anthony Stowers officiating. Burial was in the Brannon Mountain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Hayes, Craig Teague, Kenneth Mulanax, Mike Shumate, George Bates and Randy Northam.

Paul Sturgeon, 71, of Elkins died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at his home.

Florence Eileen Beaver, 88, of Huntsville died Nov. 13, 2008.
She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Eureka Springs to Alfred and Elsie Faust Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of the Forum Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie Beaver; and a daughter, Janie Ruth Beaver.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Beaver and Bob Beaver, both of Huntsville, and Kelly Beaver of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Ruth Mullin of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at the Forum Church of Christ with Minister Robert Waters officiating. Burial was in the Beulah Union Cemetery. Arrangements were by Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Fayetteville
Rachel J. Reed, 68, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1940, in Prairie Grove to James Harley and Martha Grace Cuzick Layman. She was an employee of Chick-Fil-A and a member of New Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Allen Drane, and her first husband, Alvin Drane.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Reed; a daughter, Sherry Adkisson of Prairie Grove; two sons, Michael Drane of West Fork and Tracy Drane of Prairie Grove; 11 grandchildren; and a greatgrandson. Arrangements were by Moore’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. A funeral service was held Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Martin officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
